Young People
Many young people in supported accommodation settings have experienced trauma, neglect, or significant disruption. Each child or young person is unique, so we provide tailored support that reflects their individual needs, personal history, and family circumstances.
Our full range of integrated services ensures that each young person receives the right level of support to achieve positive outcomes.
Our staff team is made up of skilled, approachable, and compassionate professionals who provide care and support around the clock. They are more than simply staff members — they are consistent, trusted adults who are committed to helping young people feel safe, understood, and supported.
Dedicated Care and Support
Our Supported Accommodation Settings offer a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for young people who have experienced trauma or neglect. Placement decisions are based on each young person's needs, ensuring they live in a home with the right level of support at the right time.
All young people have access to our full range of support services, including emotional and psychological support, education pathways, and employability guidance, helping them work toward their personal goals and long-term stability.
GIRFEC Framework
We follow the principles of the GIRFEC framework to ensure each young person receives personalised support that reflects their needs.
Our Approach
Our experienced and caring staff provide consistent practical and emotional support. They build strong and trusting relationships with the young people they work with, ensuring each individual feels valued and heard. Key workers provide continuity, allowing young people to form stable, supportive relationships.
We work closely with external professionals who offer psychological assessments, therapeutic input, and specialist interventions where required. The multi-disciplinary expertise available allows Bortlian Home Care to take a rounded and comprehensive approach to supporting children and young people.
Young people living in our homes benefit from a wide range of support services offered through Bortlian Home Care's integrated model. Our practice continues to develop with an increasing focus on trauma-informed care.
When a young person is ready to move on from residential care, we offer structured transition support. This may involve returning to their family home or moving into independent or semi-independent living, depending on what is right for them.
