Life Skills & Independence Support
Each young person follows a personalised support plan focusing on budgeting, cooking, personal care, and household management. We guide residents toward self-sufficiency at their own pace.
At Bortlian Homecare, we support young people aged 16 to 18 as they transition from care into independent adulthood. Our 4-bed shared home in Bexley offers a nurturing, structured, and development-focused environment aligned with Category 2 Supported Accommodation standards. Through tailored support plans, 24/7 staffing, and a strong focus on life skills and wellbeing, we empower young people to build the confidence and capabilities they need for independent living.
We support young people to manage emotions, build self-esteem, and improve resilience through regular check-ins, trusted relationships with key workers, and access to mental health support when needed
Residents follow a personalised support plan that builds essential skills like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and managing appointments, preparing them to live independently with confidence.
We help young people smoothly transition from foster placements or care settings into semi-independent living. Support includes enrolment in education or training, finding employment, and developing social connections in the community.
Our quick referral process connects young people (16–18) with safe accommodation and the right support. Family members, carers, professionals, and organisations can refer.
